Rainy Day Photo Shoot...

A perfect day for sleeping in or cuddling on the couch with Ava or reading a book and being lazy...that sounds like the perfect cold and rainy kind of day to me.  :)

But that isn't how I spent my rainy day.  There was a small break in the rain and I rushed out to a nearby nature park and did a photo session.

I must love my family, since this session was for them and finding a time that works is difficult since my brother often works 6 days a week. So needless to say finding time to schedule this is difficult, but we got it done. Whew!

Sleepover and Fashion Shows...

Ava had another friend sleep over this weekend.  We have had play dates with Natalie and Ava has slept over at her house twice, but this was Natalie's first time staying overnight with us.  I have to say this girl is a keeper when it comes to sleep overs.  She can sleep over any time.  I love when you find a kid that just fits right in with your family and is really well behaved.  That would definitely be Natalie.  :)  The girls started off playing outside for a little bit on scooters and bikes and then they came in and played Fashion Show.  With even a little bit of makeup!  Oh my how fun.

Seriously I would like to be 6 and 7 again.  Really. I would. Promise!  I helped with the makeup since I didn't want them to end up looking like street walkers in fancy dresses.  They even made sure to accessorize with headbands, princess crowns, purses, feather boas, and shoes.  They went all out.

Ava's cousin Olivia even joined in on the fun.  Olivia donned some Mardi Gras beads and cowgirl boots.  Adorable.  They of course were all about posing for the camera, and I was happy to oblige.

Ava & Natalie popping their poses for the camera.  I should live in England and be like stalkerazzi.  Ok not really.  But I love me some adorable kids who love to have their photos taken.

And Natalie was a girl after my own photo taking/loving heart.  This girl is a poser and loves to have her picture taken.  Be still my heart!  :)  And she is absolutely adorable too!  What a winning combination.

Olivia wanting to be in front of the camera too.  If these girls ever make it to the red carpet and Hollywood one day they are going to be well prepared in posing in front of the camera.  :)

Ava was cracking me up because she was giving me this intense look and posing.  I am like uh what are you doing?!?!  She must be watching America's Top Model or whatever that show is.  Not watching it here obviously since I don't know exactly what the show is called.

Watch for her Tyra you might be seeing her on your show in the next 10 years or so.

Two beautiful girls who had tons of fun playing Fashion Show, getting makeup, and pictures taken.  They melt my heart for sure!  They are such good friends and I hope they remain that way for a very long time to come.  They played well together and had a blast.  They even created bookmarks for each other, painted their nails, watched some TV, but very little, read books together, played barbies, and I am sure tons I am leaving out.  I know I enjoy a kid when I am not looking at the clock and am ready to send them home.  lol

Happy Birthday Austin

Wishing my nephew Austin a very happy 11th birthday today!  We celebrated his birthday at Texas Roadhouse!  Yum!  Hard to believe he is already 11 years old.  He is such a good kid and I am so proud of the person he is.  He truly is a great kid and my family is so blessed to have him in our lives.  I hope he knows how much he means to all of us.

Austin got some clothes, but mostly money!  What kid doesn't like money!?!?!  :)  We gave money...not clothes! Figured he can make better use of the money than if I buy him clothes!

Olivia & Ava posing...always a competition between the two of them with everything...even when it comes to me and getting my attention.  lol  :)

Ava posing...she loves to pose.  I love to take pictures.  It's a win-win situation! :)

The whole bunch! Ava, Olivia, Alyssa, Austin, Kylar, & Jordan.  Yes, Jordan is pretending his french fry is a cigarette.  He wasn't doing this before the picture.  I used this as an opportunity to tell my brother he should quit smoking, as it is rubbing off on his son.  lol  In a loving and joking way I told him this of course.

Austin even was a sport and got on the saddle at Roadhouse while everyone wished him a YEE HAW!!!!  He quickly got off the saddle too.  Not so fun to be embarrassed, but he took it quite well.  Happy Birthday Aus!  Love you!

Life's A Beach...

Today was supposed to be a beach themed day at school for Ava, but instead we woke up to a chilly, rainy day.

She still donned her sunglasses with her umbrella.  It most certainly doesn't feel like beach weather today.  But thankfully we know summer and nicer days are ahead!  Aaaaah summer!  Bring it on!

Ready. Set. Practice.

Pink Baseball Bat. Check.
Pink Baseball Glove. Check. (In The Bag)
Pink Helmet/with Pink Face Mask. Check.
Geared up and ready to go to her first softball practice!

And on a side note...that helmet with face mask probably would have come in handy when she was practicing with her Dad a while back.  lol  :)

Softball Practice...

starts on Saturday for Ava.  She is super excited.  Hopefully she has better luck practicing with her team then she did with her Dad though.

Thankfully she wasn't hurt from her Dad pitching to her.  I still can't believe I caught this on camera.  She didn't even cry. If that was me as a kid,  I'd probably have ran inside crying, but she can be tough when she wants to be.  Pretty sure a helmet with a mask on it will come in handy if she's practicing with her Dad again in the immediate future.  I probably won't win any parent of the year awards because every time I see this photo, I can't help but laugh.  Not to mention that I am actually putting it on my blog as well.  But there was no blood, nothing was broken or anything horrible like that.  Had she been hurt I probably wouldn't be laughing or putting this on my blog but then again, who knows.  It is pretty funny! Especially the expression on her face!  Classic!  And yes she is still super excited still after taking one in the face with the ball. lol
